My full name is Patrick Graham, and I am a 23 year-old interdisciplinary artist. I have been studying photography of 6 years, and my body of work is concentrated in fine-art portraiture and conceptual lighting. I started my photography journey at the beginning of my senior year of high school, gathering initial experience at local car meets with an old DSLR, before gradually transitioning to various subject matters including portraits and sceneries.
I’m currently enrolled at the University of North Texas at Denton, set to attain my Bachelors of Fine Arts with a degree in Studio Art. My work utilizes digital and analog methods, of which are used interchangeably between projects that demand certain approaches.
My work concentrates itself within conceptual-based portraiture, illustrating scenes of ephemeral, contemporary spaces that exist separate from the boundaries of reality. I take thorough inspiration from real-world phenomenon such as space, science, and history, of which I liken to an assessment of my experiences and reflections of my being, as an artist, into narrativizing my work in images that eternally preserve the spaces I create.
I had never initially sought out photography as a means of expounding on my artistic abilities, but the mere idea of capturing and immortalizing a space in its stillness was one that I’ve found intriguing as I’ve progressed my artistic studies, and I seek to be able to visualize unique and individual spaces by means of direct and specific control of light within my work.
Among some of my personal interests, I enjoy being active, studying varieties of music, art galleries, traveling, and learning from historical examples of art.
